Carving Pumpkins

After we got the pumpkins home it was time to start carving. We got 7 pumpkins this year to carve, one for each of us. (Nick, Shauna, Luca, Charleigh, Kody, Sammy & Marshmallow) I found a really cool website www.zombiepumpkin.com and printed out some awesome designs. I splurged and got a deluxe pumpkin carving kit at Walmart and it had two of the scrapie things in it to gut the pumpkins. We had never used the scrapie things before and they are one of the greatest inventions ever!!! We gutted 7 pumpkins in half an hour. Luca even helped but we were able to get more done when he went to bed that night.

We ran out of time before Nick left and were only able to carve 4 of the pumpkins. I carved the Frankenstein, the Alien and Nick carved the Devil and the Cat

Pumpkin Patch

Last year we Luca and I went to the pumpkin patch at Pax farm with Sharee & her kids, Alicia & her kids and Grandma Linda. We had such a great time I wanted to go again this year. Nick and I took Luca hoping that he would be excited and run around looking for a pumpkin. (Sometimes I forget that he is only 19 months old) Luca was grumpy and wanted to ride in the cart or be held. We thought is was going to be a quick excursion but when he saw the hay bale maze he got so excited. His favorite part of the maze, the stairs. He just wanted to keep going up and down. Such a silly boy.

Pumpkins & Cookies

Grandma is so wonderful, always thinking of others and helping out. This year she grew pumpkins in her garden for her grandchildren that are living close by. She invited us over to her house so the kids could pick the pumpkins and then afterward they were going to decorate sugar cookies. Luca really had a fun time with his cousins Carson and Brookly and he absolutely loved being the center of attention and entertaining everyone while they were decorating cookies. He was banging on the table, tossing sprinkles everywhere and his laugh was so infections that everyone joined in.

Skate Park ~ Nick is NOT old

This was a very fun day, Nick decided that he wanted to go skateboarding so we pack up Nick, his board, Luca and Me into the car and headed out to the local skate park. Nick was a little intimidated when we got there and I asked him what's wrong and he said that he wished all the little kids would go home so he could skate.

A couple of these kids told Nick that he looked like he was probably good a long time ago

Some other kids thought it was cool that Nick brought his baby and "girlfriend" to the skate park and they wished their girlfriends would take pictures of them skating like I was taking pictures of Nick.

Visiting Grandpa & Grandma Christensen

We went down to New Harmony to visit Grandpa & Grandma Christensen's and we had a great time. We played pool, visited and rode the 4 wheelers. Luca was scared of the 4 wheelers at first but he really liked riding them toward's the end.

Thanksgiving Point

We went to the Ancient Life Museum and Farm at Thanksgiving point. It was the $2 Tuesday's in August and it was packed. Luca ran through every exhibit and it took Nick a minute to realize that he couldn't stop and read each exhibit but had to be continually moving to keep up with Luca. It was tons of fun and we are going to go back again when Luca is older.

Very excited that he could touch almost everything in museum
