Gingerbread houses and a weird family!

There were so many people making gingerbread houses and it was so much fun. Sharee, Alicia and Sesha's families were there. Luca likes to yell when he is decorating and, like his daddy, has to be the center of attention. After the houses were made Nick, Luca and the older boys went outside for a snowball fight. When all was said and done Nick and a pregnant Sharee had to take naps. Nick and Jared also had to do funny poses with Luca. It was a good day.

Seeing the light with the Jensen family

We had a great time going to see the little decorated houses in Ogden with the Jensen family, but my goodness was it cold. I don't think that James has warmed up since leaving Hawaii. After seeing the light we had them over for dinner and the guys talked, Sesha and I baked and the boys played video games. It was a really great day.

2012's Family Pictures

We would like to thank Shawn & Linda for taking time out of their busy schedule especially around the holiday season to drive up to Snow Basin with us and Linda taking our family pictures. The lodge was decorated beautifully and since it was early November the ski season hadn't started yet so we pretty much had the lodge to ourselves. Linda did such a wonderful job and we really appreciate all that she does for our family.

Happy Nick?!?

Nick is an awesome husband who promised me when we first got married that when we eventually got our own house he would put up Christmas lights because we weren't allowed to have Christmas lights on our house when I was growing up.  Nick is always so happy to put up the lights, the pictures show his joy.
Look at the professional job he is doing.

Such joy in that expression.

We love our friends

Stefanie Lugo and her kids, Avram 7, Vesta 4 & Theron 1 1/2 came over and decorated sugar cookie. It seemed like Luca and Theron had more fun eating the frosting than decorating the cookies. Since it is November, we are so thankful for our friends.

Halloween

We had a great time at the Guthrie Halloween party and Nick was able to be there and see Luca in all his Ewok glory. Linda made some great chili and I had fun making the root beer and watching Nick put the dry ice in and watch the kids get so excited. Nick had to leave on the morning of Halloween but I took Luca trick-or-treating anyway with his Grandma & Grandpa Guthrie. Grandpa Shawn wore out before Luca did.  It was a great time.

Carving Pumpkins

After we got the pumpkins home it was time to start carving. We got 7 pumpkins this year to carve, one for each of us. (Nick, Shauna, Luca, Charleigh, Kody, Sammy & Marshmallow) I found a really cool website www.zombiepumpkin.com and printed out some awesome designs. I splurged and got a deluxe pumpkin carving kit at Walmart and it had two of the scrapie things in it to gut the pumpkins. We had never used the scrapie things before and they are one of the greatest inventions ever!!! We gutted 7 pumpkins in half an hour. Luca even helped but we were able to get more done when he went to bed that night.

We ran out of time before Nick left and were only able to carve 4 of the pumpkins. I carved the Frankenstein, the Alien and Nick carved the Devil and the Cat
